In his presentation, IMF Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Mikhael (City of Hope — Phoenix) discusses disparities in myeloma and how the IMF is committed to addressing this issue head on through multiple diversity initiatives.

Dr. Mikhael goes on to review multiple myeloma basics including the definition of multiple myeloma, key factors of the disease, and approaches to initial treatment and frontline therapy.

Relapsed Therapy, Emerging Therapies, and Clinical Trials

Dr. Nina Shah (University of California, San Fransisco) reviews current standards of care for multiple myeloma patients, available therapies, how treatments target myeloma, and emerging BCMA targeting therapies.

Living Well with Myeloma: Navigating the Journey

Kimberly Noonan, RN, ANP, AOCN (IMF Nurse Leadership Board) discusses the importance of expressing your goals and preferences with your healthcare team, communicating your symptoms, making informed decisions, surrounding yourself with a support system, and the value of exercise.
