When IMF President and Founder Susie Durie attended a large medical conference, she stood in the auditorium and watched healthcare professionals meet with myeloma experts. Susie thought, “Where are the patients? Why are they not meeting with these experts?” Through this experience, the idea for IMF’s Patient & Family Seminars was born.
The IMF hosts educational Patient and Family Seminars in cities around the world. These meetings enable patients and their families to learn about the latest developments in myeloma from a panel of world-renowned myeloma experts. Armed with cutting-edge myeloma information, patients can make informed treatment choices. The interactive environment ensures that individual patient questions are addressed. The seminars also create an opportunity for patients to meet and interact with others touched by myeloma.
