About Multiple Myeloma
Multiple myeloma starts in the bone marrow plasma cells. It weakens the immune system and can affect many parts of the body by causing the bone marrow to create dysfunctional antibodies and plasma cells. Living with or treating this disease means making complicated decisions, and this requires searching for reliable, current information on multiple myeloma.

This week's blog talks about the top highlights from day one of the 12th Annual Global Myeloma Action (GMAN) Summit, which took place from June 5-7, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden. On Thursday, August 13, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted accelerated approval to Zenbexus™ (iberdomide), in combination with Darzalex Faspro® (daratumumab and hyaluronidase-fihj) and dexamethasone as treatment for adults with relapsed/refractory myeloma (RRMM) who have received at least one prior line of therapy — including a proteasome inhibitor and an immunomodulatory agent.
The approval was based on efficacy results from EXCALIBER-RRMM (NCT04975997), a two-stage, randomized, multicenter, open-label trial in adults with RRMM who had previously received one or two lines of therapy.
