It is a privilege to serve as President and CEO of this organization with a rich history spanning over three decades. The IMF has an unparalleled global myeloma community united under our mission of improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working towards prevention and a cure.
As we look to the future we continue to be centered on the people impacted by myeloma. I'm excited today to share with you a set of strategies we have written over the last nine months with input from patients we serve, global key opinion leaders, industry partners, and other collaborators.
The strategy focuses on purposeful targeted innovation in the service of those who need us most. The landscape of multiple myeloma has radically changed since our inception. We have advanced research in ways unfathomable 30 years ago. We have new partners that did not exist a few years ago. We know more about this rare disease and the people living with it than ever before. We are working with the best knowledge to anticipate opportunities ahead.
It is with this lens that we focus on our new strategic path. As we move forward with our strategic plan, we will hold at the center of all we do commitment to three objectives: Number one: Raise the bar. Number two: Broaden our reach. And number three: Innovate every step of the way. What does it mean to raise the bar in our services? It means we will raise the bar for ourselves in the field of myeloma ensuring all our efforts are data informed and thoroughly evaluated to ensure effectiveness.
As we move forward we will broaden our reach. Myeloma knows no borders, nor should we. We will actively pursue health equity bringing our resources to those who need our services most so that those impacted by myeloma can live their healthiest lives no matter who they are where they live or how much money they make.
We will innovate every step of the way ensuring we bring new ideas to the forefront that further a cure and improve lives. We will do this by co-creating and championing research, education, patient support ,and policy solutions with populations impacted by myeloma. We will engage these experts— individuals living with myeloma in everything we do. Every program we develop we will partner with people diagnosed with myeloma and we will seek to elevate their voices through all our forums.
As we embark on this journey of excellence, inclusion, and Innovation, we ask that you join us. We have always put people at the center of everything we do we know that it is through continued collaboration with you that we can and will build a future without myeloma.
