Understanding Clinical Trials in Myeloma
Clinical trials are research studies that involve patients (after laboratory studies have demonstrated that a new drug, treatment, or procedure works better than existing methods). The goal of a myeloma clinical trial is to improve patient care. Whether or not to participate in a clinical trial is one of the critical decisions you and your doctor may have to make at some point in your cancer care continuum. The information in this booklet can help guide you in that discussion.
