The Annual Miles for Myeloma Hybrid 5K Run/Walk with theme “Redefine Being Together” took place on Saturday, April 29, 2023, virtually and in-person at FDR Park in Philadelphia, PA. More than 270 people participated in-person, and they were joined by 30 virtual participants from across the U.S. and one from South Africa.

Participants gathered early Saturday morning for the 8:00 a.m. starting gun. Despite light rain, the runners and walkers approached the 5K with enthusiasm and hope. Along the Tribute Path, participants paid respects to those living with or those who have succumbed to multiple myeloma.

Most importantly, all kept in mind the purpose of the race: to help find a cure for this complex disease.

Delighted by the results, all were thrilled to hear that Miles for Myeloma raised almost $40,000, working toward thier goal to fund one of the International Myeloma Foundation’s (IMF) Senior Brian D. Novis Grants in 2024.

You can still give to the event. We encourage you to help make change happen and make a donation today.

The IMF is grateful to all who have raced or who have given thus far, all to push forward in the other race—the one for a cure!
