Management of multiple myeloma in Asia: resource-stratified guidelines
Even though the landscape for multiple myeloma diagnosis and management has substantially developed in the past 10 years, the clinical guidelines that provide recommendations on standard treatment for myeloma patients does not take into account the limitations of resources in developing countries. In particular, the “huge disparities in economy, health-care infrastructure, and access to novel drugs in Asian countries hinder the delivery of optimum care to every patient with multiple myeloma in Asia.”
This review summarizes the guidelines that correspond with different levels of health-care resources and expertise in Asia. Its purpose is to unify diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines and with the design of future Asian studies.
