Understanding Treatment of Myeloma Bone Disease
This booklet will familiarize you with myeloma-related bone disease (MBD) and the therapies available to prevent or treat it. Approximately 70%–80% of people with myeloma develop MBD, which can cause bones to become thinner and weaker, and can create holes in bone. The weakened bone is more likely to break. The FDA has approved several bone-modifying agents to help address this potential complication of myeloma.
