Stories
  • Myeloma Action Month 2017

In support of International Myeloma Foundation Myeloma Action Month initiatives, our group successfully raised funds for research to help find a cure for myeloma. This year we raised $6,645, 133% of our $5000 goal.  The IMF continues to lead key myeloma research efforts via the International Myeloma Working Group, funding key research at myeloma centers around the world.  A truly worthy cause that supports research on exciting new myeloma treatments, including hopefully an eventual cure.  Well done and thanks to all who participated in the fundraiser!

  • Myeloma Action Month 2016

In conjunction with the International Myeloma Foundation's Myeloma Action Month initiatives, our group successfully raised funds to support research to help find a cure for myeloma, achieving 106% of our $5000 goal.  The IMF continues to lead key myeloma research efforts via the International Myeloma Working Group, focusing and funding key research experts at myeloma centers around the world.  A truly worthy cause.  Well done to all who participated.

  • Winner of Myeloma Fundraiser 'Blooms of Life' Raffle Announced

Joe and Darcy McCorristin of Chesapeake, VA are the happy winners of the myeloma fundraiser quilt “Many Blooms of Life.”

  • McWethy Family’s March Against Myeloma

“After assisting hundreds of IMF members with their fundraising projects over the course of my many years with the Foundation, I continue to be inspired by the ingenuity and dedication of the families I work with,” says Suzanne Battaglia, Director of Member Events for the IMF. “Justin McWethy’s month-long public awareness campaign plus a day of riverbank cleanup in his community of Yosemite is an excellent example of a unique event that reflects the interests of the IMFer who organized it.”

  • Southeastern Virginia Multiple Myeloma Support Group (SEVA) Mambos for Myeloma

The Southeastern Virginia Multiple Myeloma Support Group (SEVA) invites you to Mambo for Myeloma.

  • Art On the Gogh!

It was a perfect confluence of events, because Michele Sandifer had been planning to take an Art On the Gogh paint-ing class anyway. “I was chatting with the instructor, Molly Loch, while I was making that plan, and she mentioned she does private parties and fundraisers as well,” Michele recalls. Michele knew from that moment that she wouldn’t just attend a class – she would host one, Art on the Gogh for the IMF, in honor of her sister-in-law Beth Harman.

  • Jerry Walton: Another Great ASH Event for Myeloma Support Group Leaders

As always, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) did an absolutely super job arranging multiple myeloma (MM) support group leader (SGL) participation in this year’s 56th American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting.
