Myeloma in the Middle, launched in 2026, is a virtual support group for individuals living with multiple myeloma during an active stage of life—while working, raising families, caring for others, and managing major responsibilities.

This group provides a confidential, peer-based space to talk about challenges that are often unique to us, including work and career disruption, financial concerns, family dynamics, relationships, dating, and balancing treatment with daily life. The focus is on shared understanding, practical navigation, and connection—without pressure, comparison, or expectation.

What Is Multiple Myeloma?

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the bone marrow plasma cells. It is synonymous with "myeloma" and "plasma cell myeloma." Plasma cells make antibodies against infectious agents such as viruses and bacteria. A cancerous or malignant plasma cell is called a myeloma cell. Myeloma is called “multiple” because there are frequently multiple patches or areas in bone marrow where it grows.
