Myeloma is the second most common blood cancer. It's not skin cancer. Myeloma is twice as common in African-Americans. When I was diagnosed, I didn't know anything about it. They gave me three-to-five years, but here I stand 18 years later. There's so much out there. All the treatments available, all the hope that's out there.

I've had three children since diagnosed. Continuing with my career since diagnosed. You can live with myeloma. It's so super encouraging—the landscape of new treatment options. There is just a lot of hope. But if you want the true story get on the line with the IMF and talk to somebody. Just don't Google.
