This year during March Action Month we will work together, take accountability, and increase the visibility of myeloma. The IMF challenges YOU to put yourself on the top of that “to-do list” and join us in this wellness challenge.

Covid Update

The IMF applauds the efforts of the volunteer leaders that conduct local and virtual myeloma support group meetings.  We are cautiously optimistic for local support groups to return back to in-person or hybrid meetings (combination of in-person and virtual).

Each group will decide the meeting format that works best for their members: to remain virtual, or to meet in person, hybrid or alternating hybrid.  Please contact group leader below for details.

Starting in January, 2023 this group will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month with attendees having the option to join in person or virtually as it best meets their needs. For details, please contact Sheri Baker  ([email protected]).

What Is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the bone marrow plasma cells. It is synonymous with "myeloma" and "plasma cell myeloma." Plasma cells make antibodies against infectious agents such as viruses and bacteria. A cancerous or malignant plasma cell is called a myeloma cell. Myeloma is called “multiple” because there are frequently multiple patches or areas in bone marrow where it grows.
