Sergio’s bio: 

Sergio Jablon was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1968.

He has written for various media (film, television, press, and radio) in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Jablon has written a book of short stories, Celos y Tenedores y otras historias de amor, and a novel, En su Propio Beneficio, which received a special mention in the prestigious Miguel Otero Silva Award in 1999 and was also a runner-up for the Planeta Venezuela Award that same year.

In 2007, his screenplay for El Señor Presidente won Best Feature Screenplay at the International Strasbourg Festival in France.

Since 2010, Jablon has been the head writer for TelevisaUnivision’s Music and Entertainment Division, where he wrote some of the most-watched shows on Hispanic television, such as Premio Lo Nuestro, Mira Quien Baila, Tu Cara Me Suena, Premios Juventud, the Latin American Music Awards, and the Latin Grammys.

A Guy with Cancer Walks into a Bar . . . is his first nonfiction book.
