IMF Hosts the 14th Annual Paris Patient & Family Seminar

Drs. Brian G.M. Durie, Jean-Luc Harousseau, and Chantal Doyen presented the latest myeloma research and information on June 18, 2016 at the 14th annual Patient & Family Seminar in Paris. They spoke on “The Importance of Clinical Trials,” “Myeloma Drugs of Yesterday and Today,” and Dr. Durie gave an update on the IMF’s Black Swan Research Initiative®.” In addition to the engaging dialogue from these three doctors from three different countries, the IMF was also pleased to host Thierri Barbieux, the President of the Belgian support group MYMU, and Bernard Delcour, President of the French Support Group AF3M.

Scott “Chek” Kowalcyck was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in December 2012. On January 1, 2013, he started a chemotherapy regime and eventually underwent a stem cell transplant in May of that same year. Scott continues to battle MM. For the third year, the Kowalcycks are rallying around Scott’s fight by hosting the 2016 ChekFest Golf Tournament on July 22, 2016 at the Meadows Golf Club at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
