	Just One Year After Its Launch, iStopMM Project Achieves Unprecedented Response Since its November 2016 launch, nearly 80,000 individuals have volunteered to participate in the IMF Black Swan Research Initiative-supported iStopMM project to screen, treat, or prevent multiple myeloma. “This is the largest myeloma-related study requiring patient participation ever conducted,” says IMF Chairman Dr. Brian Durie. In this week’s blog, he shares the accomplishments of the project’s first year and its future goals. “As the screening results pour in to the iStopMM clinic in Iceland, laboratories and biobank are all up and running…it’s a huge undertaking.” Read the blog.

	Norway Hosts 3 IMF Patient & Family Seminars More than 500 patients in Norway attended Patient & Family Seminars in Oslo, Trondheim, and Stavanger this November. Dr. Nina Gulbrandsen (Oslo University Hospital) oversaw the seminar in Oslo, and guest speaker Dr. Sundar Jagannath (Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City) shared a presentation titled “Drugs and Treatments for the Future.” Twenty doctors also met at Oslo University Hospital, where Dr. Jagannath discussed the latest therapies in the U.S. Dr. Anders Waage from Trondheim and Dr. Einar Haukås from Stavanger led seminars in their respective cities.
