Myeloma Minute: NINLARO News

European Medicine Agency's Adopts a Positive Opinion for the Conditional Approval of Ninlaro™ for Patients with Multiple Myeloma

European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) now recommends the conditional approval of Takeda Pharmaceutical’s Ninlaro™ (ixazomib) capsules in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone for patients with multiple myeloma who have had at least one prior therapy. If the European Commission ratifies CHMP’s positive recommendation, Ninlaro will be authorized as the first and only oral proteasome inhibitor for use throughout the European Economic Area, which includes the European Union’s 28 member states as well as Norway, Lichtenstein, and Iceland. Tune in to Today's Living Well with Myeloma Teleconference

Don’t miss this teleconference in the Living Well with Myeloma series TODAY at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET. IMF Medical Liaison Dr. Rafat Abonour (Indiana University – Simon Cancer Center) and Dr. Edward Stadtmauer (University of Pennsylvania) will present on CAR T-Cell Therapy: What Myeloma Patients & Caregivers Need to Know. CAR T-cells, or chimeric antigen receptor T-cells, are part of a class of cancer therapies known as immunotherapies. With CAR T-cell therapy, a patient’s T-cells are harvested and genetically reengineered to become better able to recognize and attack myeloma. The altered T-cells are then reinfused into the body with the hope of fighting the disease. Register for this teleconference for free HERE.
