IMF Nurse Leadership Board Member Teresa Miceli Appointed Mayo Associate

The IMF’s Nurse Leadership Board (NLB) member Teresa Miceli, RN BSN OCN (Assistant Professor of Nursing) has been appointed as a Mayo Associate. This outstanding appointment recognizes individuals for their contribution on a continuing basis to the practice, research, and educational activities of their respective department or specialty practice. This recognition is very unique; there are very few nurses who meet the criteria for Associate status.

Teresa was nominated for the Associate appointment by myeloma expert Dr. Morie Gertz (Mayo Clinic), who had previously nominated Teresa to the NLB. “Without his support, I would not be a member of the NLB,” said Teresa. “And every member of the NLB has mentored me and contributed to my receiving this appointment. Activities of the NLB have been integral in bringing me to this level of academic professionalism. A special shout-out goes to NLB’s Dr. Beth Faiman, who has been, and continues to be, a model of professionalism and mentoring. Many thanks to Diane Moran and the International Myeloma Foundation for recognizing the important contribution of nurses to the patient experience.”
