ASH 2019 Preview: Immune Therapies Continue to Take Center Stage

Anticipation surrounded Wednesday’s preview of hundreds of new myeloma research studies that will be presented at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting in Orlando in a few weeks. But IMF Chairman Dr. Brian G.M. Durie managed to winnow them down to the 10 abstracts and categories he says “may have an impact on the future of myeloma care.” Among them are new and emerging immune therapies, including CAR T-cell approaches.

This award recognizes individuals who have “broadened the reach of Indiana University around the state, nation and world.” Dr. Abonour serves as the IMF’s Medical Liaison and is a member of the IMF’s International Myeloma Working Group. The IMF congratulates Dr. Abonour for this prestigious award!
