During this support group meeting we will be joined by Rebekah Tobin of Takeda Oncology. She will provide us with information regarding risks of multiple myeloma including:

• Explains why understanding risk status is important
— The difference between low- and high-risk categories
— How risk status is assessed
— The difference between risk factors and risk status
• Details the factors that contribute to risk status, including patient-related characteristics, tumor
burden and the genetic features of cancer cells
• Describes chromosomes and their role in multiple myeloma in a patient-friendly, visual way,
including explanations of chromosomal abnormalities, such as translocations, gains, and deletions
• Lists chromosomal abnormalities commonly associated with multiple myeloma
• Explains the importance of the fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) test and other
chromosomal tests
• Offers questions listeners can consider posing to their healthcare team

Attendance can be in person (Lower Level Meeting Room B) or via Zoom.
