About 85% of multiple myeloma patients develop bone disease. Bone disease is characterized by the presence of lytic bone lesions. In multiple myeloma patients, these lesions may cause “fractures, poor circulation, blood clots, pain, poor mobility, and decreased quality of life.” This article is a guide for assessing and managing bone disease, pain, and mobility in patients with multiple myeloma during various junctures in the course of the disease.
