CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta interviewed IMF Chairman Dr. Brian Durie and Dr. Sigurdur Kristinsson in Reykjavik, Iceland last week about the Black Swan Research Initiative’s iStopMM project. Myeloma Action Month Is in Full Force - Take Action All Month Long!

Yesterday marks the launch of Myeloma Action Month. During this month, the International Myeloma Foundation will reach out to primary care doctors, lawmakers, and patients to raise awareness of the disease. Visit the  Myeloma Action Month website to learn about all the ways you can get involved. This site includes a letter to send to health care practitioners, a customizable press release for your local news outlets, stories from myeloma patients, and opportunities for you to share your story as well. The European Medicines Agency Adopts a Positive Opinion of Extensions to Current Recommendations for the Use of Darzalex® (daratumumab)

On February 23, 2017 the Committee for Medical Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency adopted a positive opinion recommending changes to the terms of marketing authorization for Darzalex® (daratumumab). International Myeloma Foundation Attends International Myeloma Workshop in New Delhi

During the International Myeloma Workshop (IMW), myeloma experts from around the world gather to discuss basic, preclinical, and clinical aspects in the biology and treatment of multiple myeloma. The scientific program will include oral presentations, consensus panels, debates on controversial and current arguments, and poster abstracts. IMF Chairman of the Board Dr. Brian Durie will present the Dr. Bart Barlogie Young Investigator Award and the IMF’s Nurse Leadership Board has a poster presentation on “Symptom Management and Adherence in Multiple Myeloma (MM): A Plan to Disseminate Best-Practice Guidelines for Nurses.
