Hope Flourishes at an IMF Patient & Family Seminar

In his blog this week, Dr. Brian G.M. Durie recaps the last IMF Patient & Family Seminar of 2018: "I was struck by the hopefulness that filled the room in Philadelphia this past weekend as patients connected with their peers, learned about the latest research, and grew more confident in a future with positive outcomes. The Patient & Family Seminars are the heart of what the IMF does, and it was on full display."

Laugh with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias and More at the IMF’s 12th Annual Comedy Celebration on November 3

The IMF 12th Annual Comedy Celebration takes place on Saturday, November 3, at 8 p.m. at The Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. This year’s event is hosted by Kevin Nealon and features all-star performers. This week, we spotlight Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, one of America's most successful stand-up comedians performing to sold-out concerts around the world. Iglesias was featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s Top 40 Comedy Players of 2018 issue alongside comedy giants Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Lorne Michaels. Iglesias can next be seen as star and executive producer of Netflix’s upcoming 10-episode multi-cam series “Mr. Iglesias” and has signed on for 2 new comedy specials with Netflix. Unlike many in the stand-up world, Iglesias’ globally appealing comedy stays mostly clean and his non-controversial material appeals to audiences of all ages and walks of life. Iglesias has also had the distinct honor of being one of the few to headline and sell-out Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, and The Sydney Opera House. He is also one of the most watched comedians on YouTube with more than 370 million views and has more than14 million followers across social media.

Register Today for the Blue Water Navy Veterans Act of 2017 Webinar

On Wednesday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. EST / 6:00 p.m. PST, Veterans Against Myeloma will hold a webinar. This webinar centers around legislation to expand benefits for Agent Orange exposure to U.S. naval veterans who served off the coast of Vietnam from 1961-1975. H.R. 299, the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2017, unanimously passed the House and is currently up for consideration in the Senate. If passed, the bill would cover an estimated 90,000 Vietnam veterans who are currently required to provide proof of Agent Orange exposure during their time in service before benefits can be granted. Veterans who set foot on the soil of Vietnam or traversed the inland waterways of the country are granted a presumption of exposure, while Blue Water Navy Veterans are not. The webinar’s Guest Speaker is Mr. Paul Becker, a retired United States Navy Rear Admiral and the former Director for Intelligence, J2, Joint Staff.
